Intelligent Scripture Chains (iChains)You have probably seen lists of scripture passages that lead you from one passage to another in a logical order to teach a principle or theme using pure scripture. While the concept of “scripture chains” is not new, it is still one of the most powerful ways to convey gospel knowledge. This method has been employed by master teachers throughout the ages.
The LDS Collectors Library 2005 now incorporates thousands of “intelligent scripture chains” on virtually every gospel topic. The library includes chains extracted from the scriptural passages referenced in every conference talk, discourse, and article in the library, as well as selected chapters from individual books. These chains have also been assembled from conference talks found at LDS.org, and include direct links to those talks. A chain-link icon appears to the right of every verse that is included in one or more scripture chains. Clicking on this icon provides you with a list of all scripture chains that include the verse you have selected. You can then choose any chain and view the passages that occur before and after the selected verse. . This is an extraordinary way to learn gospel principles and doctrines from pure scriptural references, as taught by prophets and master teachers. And it’s a feature that is only available in the 2005 Collectors Library! You can use these same chains in your own teaching and talks, or select from the scriptures used to create your own scripture chains. You can easily select one or more scriptures from a scripture chain for printing or to copy and paste into your own talk or instruction notes. |
