Intelligent Cross-References (iXR)What if you could instantly harness the collective wisdom of nearly every prophet, general authority, and LDS scholar of this dispensation, to actually rank the most important cross-references for every verse of scripture in the Standard Works? Now you can! Gain a deeper understanding of the Scriptures with the most authoritative, relevancy-ranked cross-referencing system ever.
iXR instantly finds every instance in the entire library where the verse you are studying is cited with any other verse. If at least three or more LDS leaders or scholars in the library have cited the two verses together, it qualifies as a relevant cross-reference. iXR then creates a list of these cross-reference verses ranked by how frequently they were cited together with the verse you are studying. Thus, the cross-references, and their “relevancy ranking” were determined not by just one person, or even a dozen people, but by the collective wisdom of hundreds of the greatest minds of this dispensation. You access this feature by clicking on the Intelligent Cross Reference flashlight icon to the right of a passage when in the Read and Pesonalize view or by clicking on the “Explore Cross References” option on the left-hand side of the screen. You can quickly navigate through the list of cross referenced verses to learn how these new passages are related and how they illuminate the verse you are reading. If you are reading 2 Nephi 31:17, you can quickly view which verses are quoted most often in relation to the verse you are reading. You will see that 2 Nephi 31:9 appears with 2 Nephi 31:17 214 times. The verse appears 210 times alongside Luke 13:24. This cross referencing system helps you understand how scriptures are used together to illustrate doctrines and principles. |
